Topic: Upper memory limit on SQL2000 on Win2003 Enterprise Edition 32 bits with AWE
Hi, we're running a clustered SQL 2000 Enterprise Edition on a Windows2003
Enterprise Edition.
This server had 32 GB of RAM.
Recently our manager ordered aditional 32 GB of RAM to this machine.
After installing the aditional memory, they was surprised that SQL AWE
memory allocation is limited to 32 GB, leaving more than 30 GB of RAM
available on Win2003 Enterprise's task manager.
Is there any way to go beyond this 32 GB allocation limit on SQL2000 + AWE +
Win2003 EE 32 bits?
Thanks in advance,
Roberto.

I believe that you need R2 version of Win2003 to use more than 32GB. If you
are only on SP1 you may not be able to take advantage of the extra memory.

Tks Andrew.
I'll search for some documentation about the memory enhancements on W2k3 R2.
Do you have easy access to this kind of documentation?
Best regards,
Roberto.
